Preamble
The Sudanese Society for Women
in ICT (SSWICT) is a volunteering society established in Dec
2004. The preparatory committee consists of 41 specialists
in the field from both of the industrial and academic fields. Membership
of this pioneering society is expected to exceed 2000 members from
all the country.
Objectives
1. To develop and empower women in the
field of ICT,
2. to raise the society's awareness of the ICT importance and usage
in the economic, educational, social and cultural development,
3. to participate effectively in the development of ICT industry so
as to keep pace with the scientific and technological progress
happening around the world,
4. to participate in setting the policies of ICT particularly those
enabling women to act in this field, and
5. to participate in the development of basic and higher education
as well as scholarly research in Sudan.
Means
1.
Publication and issuance
of periodicals.
2.
Initiation of forums,
symposiums and conferences.
3.
Local, regional, and
international sharing and exchange of technological and scientific
experience in the field of ICT.
4.
Cooperation and
coordination with relevant competent authorities and organizations.
5.
Provision of consultation
and advices as well as technical support to individuals and
governmental and private corporations.
6.
Adoption of technological
projects, in order to support women in ICT.
7.
Organization of training
courses in the field of ICT.
